Job description

PBS (Ponticelli) are looking for a Lead Planner to join our team. The individual will be responsible for overseeing the planning function for major projects, ensuring strategic alignment and effective management of all planning activities.

  • Lead the development of strategic project plans, including comprehensive schedules, resource allocation, and risk management. 
  • Manage and mentor the planning team, providing direction and support to ensure high-quality planning outputs. 
  • Integrate planning activities with overall project and program management efforts, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives. 
  • Monitor and assess project performance, providing recommendations for adjustments and improvements. 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define requirements, provide updates, and address planning-related concerns. 
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential impacts on project delivery. 
  • Prepare and present detailed planning reports, highlighting progress, risks, and performance metrics. 
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and contractual obligations in all planning activities. 
  • Identify and drive improvements in planning processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Address and resolve complex planning issues, providing effective solutions to ensure project success.  

Profile

Qualifications and Work Experience:

Essential: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field. 
Essential: Previous experience in a senior or lead planning role within the energy sector. 
Desirable: Advanced certification in project management (e.g., PMP, Prince2). 

Job Specific Knowledge:

Essential: Advanced knowledge of project planning principles and tools. 
Desirable: Expertise in planning practices for large-scale energy projects.

Skills:

Essential: Strong leadership and team management skills. 
Essential: Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills. 
Essential: Proficiency in project planning software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). 
Desirable: Experience with strategic planning and program management.
