Job description
Ponticelli is seeking a skilled Welding Engineer to join our team in Nigeria for a significant infrastructure project. The ideal candidate will haveextensive hands-on experience in welding engineering on oil&gas projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications in compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct welding inspections and assessments to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of welding processes into overall project execution.
- Provide technical support and guidance to welding teams on-site.
- Participate in the review and approval of welding qualifications and certifications.
- Troubleshoot welding-related issues and propose effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of welding processes, inspections, and certifications.
Profile
Education:
IWE (International Welding Engineer) with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or
IWT (International Welding Technologist) with significant practical experience in welding engineering.
Experience:
Proven experience in welding engineering within the oil and gas or construction industries.
Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and standards (e.g., ISO, ASME).
Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under pressure.
