Description de la mission

The company PONTICELLI ANGOLA, a subsidiary of the Ponticelli Frères Group, is recruiting as part of the Mozambique LNG development. TotalEnergies is launching the full EPC construction of a biofuel production plant located in Afungi. The facility will process coconuts to produce 5,000 tons of biodiesel per year, covering approximately 30% of the marine fleet’s fuel consumption once the LNG terminal is operational.

The scope includes Site Preparation, Civil Works, Structural Works, PVV, Equipment, Electrical & Instrumentation, and all activities up to Start‑Up.

 

Would you like to develop your experience as a Biofuel Project (M/F) ?

We invite you to join us on a permanent contract. The position is based in Afungi, Mozambique.

 

The Biofuel Project Manager serves as the primary interface between the client, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the entire EPC lifecycle. This role ensures the safe, timely, and cost‑effective delivery of the project, from engineering through procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning, and start‑up.

He guarantees full compliance with contractual obligations, technical specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements while leading multidisciplinary teams in a challenging environment.

 

The position we are offering involves the following main responsibilities:

1/ PROJECT LEADERSHIP & COORDINATION

  • Act as the main point of contact for the client and all internal/external stakeholders.
  • Lead and coordinate all phases of the EPC project, ensuring alignment with project objectives and TotalEnergies standards.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning.

2/ PLANNING, BUDGET & PERFORMANCE

  • Develop and maintain the overall project execution plan, schedule, and budget.
  • Ensure the project is delivered within the approved 40M USD budget and 22‑month timeline.
  • Monitor progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.

3/ CONTRACT & SUBCONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT

  • Oversee the performance of key subcontractors, including Radarscape and DVC.
  • Ensure contractual compliance, manage variations, and resolve disputes when necessary.
  • Conduct regular coordination meetings and site reviews.

4/ HSE & QUALITY ASSURANCE

  • Promote and enforce TotalEnergies’ HSE culture across all project activities.
  • Ensure all engineering and construction works comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement preventive measures.

5/ RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure robust contingency planning and proactive issue resolution.

6/ REPORTING & COMMUNICATION 

  • provide regular progress reports to senior management and the client;
  • ensure transparent communication across all project interfaces;
  • maintain accurate project documentation and records.

Profil

You have a Master's degree in Engineering (or equivalent), with at least 5 years of experience in Project Management within the energy sector, ideally on EPC projects involving multiple disciplines.

You have a proven experience in managing complex construction projects in remote or challenging environments.

You have a strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
You are recognised for your ability to work under pressure and maintain performance in harsh conditions.
You have developped an excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Also, a strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.

You are fluent in English (mandatory)., Portuguese is an asset.

Working Conditions
Rotation: 5 weeks ON / 5 weeks OFF.
