As a welder, you will be responsible for assembling parts of metal together or reparing damaged components using welding machine. A welder is in charge of all the welding equipment including the materials, the tools and the components according to the specifications. The materials to be joined will be metals (steel, stainless steel, aluminium, etc.).
As a pipefitter, you will perform piping work used in the construction of industrial sites. Those networks that convey liquid or gaseous fluids can be carbon steel or stainless steel, alloy and plastics or composites.
You will provide on-site assembly according to safety rules and manufacturing requirements (time, quality, etc.).
You will perform your job in the workshop or on the job site.
1. Workshop works :
- Report dimensions and measurements on materials and make tracks.
- Cut and prepare the elements and put them in size and fit.
- Bucking
- Fold
- Bending cold or hot
- Stitching
- - Prepare the edges of the soldering tips
- Chamfer
- Thread
- Adjust - - Pre-assemble, dock, connect and fix tubes and accessories such as elbows, flanges, tees in accordance with isometric plans.
- - Check the mechanical resistance, the tightness of the section, the line
- - Platinum plating
- Circuit pressurization
- Post-test piping compliance - - Design, if necessary, retouching, realignments
- - Design the dimensional control of the elements and report information on isometric plane for the establishment of "as built" in the constitution of the final file
2. Works on sites :
- Get some information of the site (environment, safety instructions …) through specific security receptions
- Fit the pipe supports according to the overall plans
- Prepare the piping elements
- Cutting
- Grinding
- Append the sections of prefabricated piping
- Fit valves, fittings and all flanged accessories
- Adjust the fixed and elastic supports
- Check the conformity of setted lines
- Isolate the circuits to elaborate the hydraulic tests according to the proofing plan
- Perform hydraulic tests
- Draw isometrically the modifications made for the establishment of "as built" entering into the constitution of the final file
