The successful candidate will oversee the procurement, storage and transportation of essential materials - such as tubes, flanges, fitting, bolts, metal structure — to support project timelines, safety standards, and operational efficiency. This role requires strong decision-making, problem-solving, and leadership skills to manage teams, optimize resources, and mitigate risks in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Material & Equipment Availability

Plan and coordinate the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment to align with project schedules and operational demands.
Monitor inventory levels and anticipate material requirements to prevent shortages or excess stock, ensuring cost-efficient resource allocation.
Collaborate with procurement teams to source high-quality materials and equipment from approved vendors, adhering to company standards and project specifications.

2. Yard & Logistics Management

Supervise the handling, unloading, and storage of incoming materials, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and organizational procedures.
Optimize yard layout for efficient material flow, accessibility, and security, minimizing risks of damage or loss.

3. Equipment Selection & Deployment

Provide technical expertise to project teams on the selection of appropriate equipment based on project scope, environmental conditions, and operational requirements.
Evaluate equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements to enhance efficiency and safety.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., API, ISO, OSHA) and company policies for equipment usage

4. Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to align material and equipment strategies with project milestones.
Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders to address logistical challenges, delays, or changes in project scope.
Prepare and present reports on material status, equipment utilization, and logistics performance to senior management.

5. Risk & Compliance Management

Identify and mitigate risks related to material shortages, equipment failures, or logistical bottlenecks.
Enforce safety and environmental standards in all material handling, storage, and transportation activities.
Ensure documentation compliance for equipment certifications, maintenance records, and inventory tracking.

Profile

Technical Expertise:

• Proven experience (5+ years) in material management, logistics, or supply chain operations, preferably in Oil & Gas, industrial construction, or heavy engineering.
• In-depth Piping and Metal Structures knowledge
• Familiarity with industry standards (API, ASME, ISO) and regulatory requirements for equipment safety and operations.

Leadership & Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams, including maintenance crews, logistics personnel, and vendors.

• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
• Certifications in project management (PMP), logistics (CSCP), or equipment safety are advantageous.

Work Environment:

• Field-based role with frequent travel to project sites, yards, and vendor locations.
• Physically demanding at times, requiring the ability to inspect equipment, oversee loading/unloading, and work in outdoor or industrial settings.
• Fast-paced and high-pressure, with a focus on meeting tight deadlines while upholding safety and quality standards.
